The other day I went to the Victoria and Albert museum. The photo exhibit was great! I got to see actual prints from Anna Atkins, Ansel Adams, Irving Penn, Alfred Steiglitz, Robert Frank, Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, etc! It was very cool and exciting.

I am actually alive and taking photos. Junior year is brutal. I don’t really sleep ever, but it’s cool. I’m learning a whole lot and (i think) getting better.

These were all shot on the hasselblad with 120 color film and scanned in.

So I’ll be updating more frequently!

These two shots are part of my final for my Photo 1 class. The theme is longer exposures of landscapes with water in them. My aim is to get that foggy, smokey effect that moving water gives when exposed for a longer period of time. The first is a shot of a dock on a lake that my friends and I stumbled upon while walking through the woods. It is a 25 second exposure at f/22. The second is a shot of some kind of water fall in a gross lake in New Jersey. This one is about a 6 second exposer at f/22. I shot both of these with my Nikon n70 and Nikkor 28-70mm lens. There are a few more on my flickr.

Self-portrait, Thomas

We had a nude assignment for my color concepts class. I shot myself and my boyfriend. I used natural lighting and the white wall in my apartment. Shot with my Nikon n70, kodak portra 400 NC, Nikkor 28-70mm lens. Printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Lustre paper

Hellllo.
My name is Gianna. I am going to school for photography. I wanted to start this blog to kind of document my progress through school and what not, but also share my older photographs as well. I want to try and post a photo everyday, and maybe talk about it, my ideas behind it, technicalities, blah blah blah. I also want to post things that I find about photography that are cool to me. I’ve been working a lot with film lately, both color and black and white. I shoot Nikon. I have a d50, d5000, and n70 along with some lenses.
So yeah. I guess that’s about it for now.
